WEST ARDNAMURCHAN COMMUNITY COUNCIL (WACC) DRAFT MINUTE OF THE MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 18 January 2021 AT 7PM (via MS Teams) 1. Welcome and apologies Present: Chair - Rosie Curtis (RC); Vice Chair - Jessie Colquhoun (JC) Secretary - Jim Frame (JF); Treasurer - Mairi Hunter (MH) Gill Calver (GC); Sarah Houston (SH); Davie Ferguson (DF) Attending: 7 members of the public Apologies: Bert Cameron The Chair welcomed all present and attending. 2. Approval of previous Minute (Monday 2nd November 2020) – proposed by SH, seconded by JC. 3. Matters Arising 3.1 Road repairs - no response received to previous emails. Sec’y to re-write and highlight concerns raised at previous meeting re roads in vicinity of Laga/Camus Inas. (Noted that some intermittent repairs/patching had been carried out in late December by HC on road surfaces in Ormsaigbeg and on lighthouse road). The AGM and next business meeting of West Ardnamurchan Community Council will be held on Monday 7th December at 19:00hrs via MS Teams. The AGM will begin at 19:00hrs and will be followed by the December business meeting. If you would like to attend, please e-mail westardcc@yahoo.com by Thursday 3rd December and we will send you a link to the meeting, along with copies of the agendas and previous Minutes. For information, the business meeting will also be attended by members of the Acharacle Medical Practice, to speak to an agenda item regarding children’s vaccinations and they would be happy to address any concerns raised by parents in the area.

Item 3 - Secretary’s Report List of correspondence received since last meeting (March 2020). Note, this does not include consideration of HC weekly Development ePlanning lists (all of which were noted), internal comms between WACC members, or comms between WACC and WACDC. 3.1 Correspondence (all email) – all were noted and shared with members, but not responded to unless stated: March i) HC Head of Policy re “Coronavirus COVID 19 advice and guidance“ – included statement “We would therefore recommend that you do not meet together as a Community Council” – thereafter WACC meetings suspended. Public advised on the WACC Blogspot (https://westardcc.blogspot.com/); ii) HC Head of Policy re ‘Car Park Conversation’ – public consultation suspended until further notice; iii) Sunart CC – Community Council contact sheets; iv) HC Senior Ward Manager – request for details of local CC resilience groups – WACC responded with copy of West Ardnamurchan Community Resilience Plan; v) Project Ma

She acknowledged the trying times we all find ourselves in during the current pandemic and expressed sincere thanks to everyone throughout the West Ardnamurchan community who continue to work hard for the benefit of us all, as we navigate the current challenges. She also extended our heartfelt condolences to the families of Martin Ellis and Bill Green, who both are sadly missed. The Chair also expressed the community’s delight at the news of the recent arrival of baby Fergus, to Sophie and Nicky Docherty, and sends our congratulations and best wishes to them all. 2.
